Ordered from here last week. First, the entire process from the website to delivery was a great experience. The website is easy to navigate, terrific prices, and great communication on where your order is at during the delivery process via text! Delivered ice-cold packed in cooling packs. Fish looked so fresh. We cook it the next day. It was firm and tender and came out really tasty. We will be ordering again, but this time eating Sashimi-Grade Salmon raw for sure! Oh yeah and ordered some of the Arctic Herb Sea Salt, which we can't wait to try.
This was absolutely the best Artic Char I have tasted. I cooked it charcoal bbq with cedar planks. Superb texture and freshness. I will buy again.
Big fan of Nordic Catch’s salmon here but was very disappointed with the Artic Char. Even though it was 5 days before the “best by” date on the package, fish was sticky and had a stinky white slime on the skin—signs of a unfresh fish. Fish was dry and had a slightly sour, ammonia-flavor when cooked. We ended up throwing most of it away because we were concerned about feeding it to our kids.
Hi Ning, I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with the Arctic Char. I'd like to point out that the slime is actually a very common occurrence on this fish, it acts as a protective barrier and in no way does it signify the fish going bad... Our fishery does their best in scraping the scales a bit, to remove some slime, before packing the fish, but we usually recommend that our customers do the same to remove any excess slime still on it.
