About the Fish: Salmon

Biology: Salmon (Salmo salar) is a cold-water species of fish that thrives in the North Atlantic Ocean and its tributaries. You can also find it in the Pacific Ocean, with different species living along the coasts of North America, Japan, and Russia.

Taste & Nutrition: With a rich, buttery taste and firm, flaky texture, salmon is an excellent source of high-quality protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and essential vitamins such as B6, B12, and D, along with minerals like selenium.

Cooking: Chefs love salmon for its versatility in dishes. You can bake, grill, smoke, or pan-sear it, and it will retain its firm texture and smooth flavor through all these different cooking techniques.

Sustainability: We sustainably harvest Nordic Catch Salmon and deliver it to your door fresh, never frozen. Our supply team rigorously monitors the fishing practices in Iceland to prevent overfishing, catching the majority of the salmon using longline methods. By choosing Nordic Catch Salmon, you’re supporting sustainable fishing practices that help preserve our ocean ecosystems.
