Bluefin Tuna Otoro Harakami for sashimi!

The ultimate cut of Bluefin Tuna — the Otoro Harakami.

Sourced from the front belly of the fish, this is the richest and most luxurious portion of Bluefin tuna, known for its extraordinary marbling and buttery texture. The Harakami section is prized by top sushi chefs for its melt-in-your-mouth quality and deep umami flavor that defines true otoro.

Each 1.5–2 lb block is expertly trimmed and flash-frozen at peak freshness, locking in its natural fat and flavor. Perfect for slicing into sashimi, nigiri, or premium toro tartare.

Important Handling Instructions!

This premium Otoro Harakami must be consumed within 2 days of delivery for guaranteed quality. Due to its extremely high fat content, this cut requires ultra-cold storage at -60°C (-76°F) — temperatures not achievable in standard home freezers. Storing it in a regular freezer will cause rapid color and texture changes. Keep ultra-frozen until ready to use, thaw under refrigeration only, and consume immediately after thawing.

Nordic Catch cannot offer refunds or replacements for products that are not stored and handled according to these instructions.

Handling instructions

Should only be stored in your conventional freezer up to 2 days.
Must enjoy the same day as thawing.
This tuna will darken very rapidly, unless stored at temperatures below -60° degrees.

Portion per pack

This bluefin block will range from 1.5-2lbs.

Grading

Otoro Harakami - The best of the best.
Otoro comes from the belly side and within that area, Harakami is specifically the front belly toward the head, and regarded as the most prized cut.

Certification

The International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) has determined that although fish stocks of Southern Bluefin Tuna are low, it is not currently being overfished due to the strict regulations being enforced.

Questions about this Nordic Selection

Why Yellowfin Tuna?

Of all the tuna species, yellowfin is considered the most sustainable!

Do NOT support the sale of Bluefin Tuna! It is an endangered species and only prized because of its rarity!

Yellowfin Tuna's rich color, and firm texture make it a beautifully delicious fillet!

What is sashimi-grade?

It simply means that it is safe to consume this fillet raw. Like sashimi or poke!

This high quality fillet is completely safe to enjoy without cooking.

Can I get it fresh, not frozen?

Yes! If you are willing to wait.

Most Nordic Selections products are available to us fresh, but we do not source them on a weekly basis like our Nordic Catch seafood.

So we must freeze most of it between order cycles.
