Is this the same as lox?
Traditional lox is salt-cured but not smoked. Our nova lox is cured and cold-smoked for added depth of flavor. Our gravlax is more similar to traditional lox with added herbs and seasoning.
Is smoked salmon raw?
Cold-smoked salmon is cured and smoked but not fully cooked. It is ready to eat as packaged.
Is gravlax very sweet?
No. The sugar balances the cure but does not create a sugary taste.
Is Icelandic salmon better?
Icelandic salmon is known for its clean flavor, firm texture, and consistent quality due to cold-water conditions and strict standards.
Is hot smoked salmon spicy?
No. “Hot” refers to the smoking temperature, not spice.
